Terms of Use

The App is licensed, not sold. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may use the App to look up tap drill sizes, clearance holes, thread-insert holes, and drill equivalents, and to keep a record of what you looked up. You are responsible for verifying every size before you drill, tap, quote, or ship anything.

The App can be downloaded and used for free. Searching every thread in the App, reading the full drill cross-reference, and getting the nearest drill from all four drill sets are free and are not limited by count or by time.

Pro narrows the nearest drill to the drill sets you own, saves the threads you use, and keeps your result history. Pro is offered two ways and both unlock exactly the same features: a one-time purchase, and an auto-renewing weekly subscription.

Purchases, refunds, billing, and purchase restoration are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

The weekly subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the App until you cancel it. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

It renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal charge is applied within 24 hours before the end of that period.

You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings, and the App links directly to that screen. Cancelling stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; it does not refund the current period. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.

The one-time purchase is not a subscription. It does not renew and is not charged again.

If the subscription lapses, the threads and results you saved remain in the App and remain readable. Only the Pro features stop applying, and the App continues to name a drill for every thread.

If the price changes, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the change takes effect.

The App reports sizes derived from published thread standards and from the percent-of-thread conventions in ordinary shop use, together with the formula, the constant, and the name of the convention each figure came from. It shows those so that you can check a number rather than trust it.

What a tap actually produces depends on the material, the tap's geometry and condition, whether the tap cuts or forms, the coolant, the machine, the fixture, hole depth, and shop practice. A percent of thread is a target, not a measurement. Standards are also revised, and a shop may work to a print or a customer specification that differs from any of them.

The App does not replace qualified engineering review, a setup sheet, a test hole in scrap, gauging, inspection, or applicable safety procedure. Verify every size against your own material, tooling, process, and organisation's requirements before production use.

The App is provided for reference and productivity purposes only. We do not warrant that any size or percentage is correct for your specific material, tap, machine, part, tolerance, regulatory requirement, or process. Nothing in the App is a certification of fitness for any joint, fastener, pressure boundary, or load path.

Saved threads and result history are stored on your device and are not backed up by us. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not responsible for loss caused by device failure, operating system behaviour, or deletion of the App.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or modify the App, extract its data tables for redistribution, use it in a way that violates law or infringes rights, or attempt to bypass purchase entitlement or technical limitations.

The App, including its software, design, text, data compilation, and presentation, is owned by Signet or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Thread standards and trademarks referred to inside the App belong to their respective owners and are named only to identify what a figure applies to.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided as is and as available. Signet is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or production-related damages, including scrap, rework, a broken tap, a ruined part, delay, lost profits, or any loss arising from reliance on a size the App reported, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute related to the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over Signet's principal office, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
