NewsKey Privacy Policy
Effective: April 19, 2026 / Last updated: May 18, 2026
Signet LLC ("we", "us") treats the privacy of users of the iOS application "NewsKey" (the "App") as a core responsibility. This Privacy Policy describes what information we handle and how.
1. Definition of Personal Information
"Personal information" in this Privacy Policy means personal information as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, including any information about a living individual that can identify the individual by name, email address, or other description, either by itself or by ready combination with other information.
2. Information We Collect
As a rule, the App does not transmit or store user data on our servers. Keywords you register and your in-app settings are stored only on your device. As an exception, when you register a new keyword, the keyword name and your selected display language (ja / en) are sent anonymously to our server for aggregation purposes (see below).
Data the App handles:
- Keyword data: news search keywords you register. Stored on the device.
- News cache: article data fetched from Google News RSS. Cached on the device only and never sent to our servers.
- App settings: in-app settings such as Premium state. Stored on the device only.
- Anonymous keyword aggregation data: when you register a new keyword, the keyword name and your selected display language (ja / en) are sent anonymously to our backend (Supabase). We do not send any user identifier, device identifier, location, exclusion words, ordering, or other user-specific information. The display language is used to compute popular keyword rankings on a per-locale basis. We use the collected data only to understand which keywords are commonly registered overall, to power popular keyword rankings, and to improve category extraction. The transmission is asynchronous; failures do not affect the App's behavior.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services.
Google News RSS
The App fetches news articles for your keywords from the Google News RSS feed. When the App fetches news, your device's IP address and the access timestamp may be transmitted to Google's servers. Fetched news data is cached on the device only and is not sent to our servers. Google's privacy policy is availablehere.
RevenueCat
Used for managing the in-app purchase (one-time purchase). RevenueCat manages App Store receipts, purchase history, and Premium state on its servers. We disclose this on the App Store privacy label as "Purchase History", used for app functionality (purchase verification) and analytics. RevenueCat's privacy policy is availablehere.
Supabase
We use Supabase's hosted database as the destination for the anonymous keyword aggregation data described above. Only the keyword name is sent — no user or device identifier. The data is used solely to improve the service (popular keyword rankings and category extraction accuracy). Supabase's privacy policy is availablehere.
Apple App Store / StoreKit
All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store credit card or other payment information. Apple's privacy policy is availablehere.
4. Purposes of Use
We collect and use information solely for the following purposes.
- To provide and maintain the App
- To manage and authenticate Premium features
- To improve the App and develop new features
- To detect and fix issues
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not provide personal information to third parties except in the following cases:
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
- When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children
- When cooperation with a national or local government agency (or a party entrusted by them) is needed to perform statutory duties
Sharing purchase history data with RevenueCat is performed as a necessary entrusted-processing arrangement to deliver the service, and is distinct in nature from disclosure to third parties.
6. Data Deletion
- Because data is stored on your device, uninstalling the App deletes the data.
- You can also delete all keywords from the in-app settings.
- To request deletion of purchase history stored by RevenueCat, please contact info@signet.co.jp.
7. Rights to Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use
You have the following rights with respect to personal information we hold about you:
- Disclosure: the right to request disclosure of personal information we hold about you
- Correction, addition, or deletion: the right to request correction, addition, or deletion if your personal information is inaccurate
- Suspension of use or erasure: the right to request that we suspend use of, or erase, your personal information
To make any of the requests above, please contact info@signet.co.jp. After verifying your identity, we will respond within a reasonable period. Note that the App generally does not store personal information on a server, so the scope of information subject to disclosure, correction, or deletion is limited.
8. Security
We implement appropriate safeguards against the loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction of information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact info@signet.co.jp.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
