Decibel Kit Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Signet LLC (合同会社Signet, "we") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Decibel Kit app ("the App") handles and how. Decibel Kit processes your measurements on your device and does not require an account.
1. Information We Collect
Decibel Kit does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or contacts, and contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Sound is analyzed on your device in real time and is not transmitted to us.
The App requests certain device permissions, used only for the stated feature and processed on your device: Microphone (to measure sound levels and frequencies); Camera and Photo Library (to capture, save, and edit photos and videos with a dB overlay that you create); and Location while in use (to add a place name to your evidence reports — only when you enable it). This data is not sent to our servers.
When you make or restore the one-time in-app purchase, our purchase provider RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user identifier and your purchase history (which products you bought). This data is used only to unlock and restore your purchase and is not linked to your real-world identity.
2. How We Use Information
The permissions above are used solely to provide the measurement, recording, evidence, and export features you choose to use, on your device. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking, and we never sell it.
3. Third-Party Services
Apple: the App is distributed through the App Store. If you turn on iCloud sync, copies of your recordings are stored in your own iCloud account; if you turn on Health export, environmental-sound levels are written to your own Apple Health. These happen only when you enable them and are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy).
Purchases: the one-time in-app purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store and by RevenueCat, Inc. for entitlement management, governed by their own policies — Apple (apple.com/legal/privacy) and RevenueCat (revenuecat.com/privacy).
Support form: the in-app “Requests & Inquiries” link opens a Google Form. Only the information you choose to submit — plus basic app version, OS, and locale shown in the form — is sent to us via Google, governed by the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
4. Data Retention & Security
Your measurements, recordings, photos, videos, and reports are stored locally on your device and remain under your control. If you enable iCloud sync, copies are kept in your iCloud account until you delete them. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed to provide and restore your purchase. We maintain no separate user database or server of our own.
5. Your Rights
Because we keep no personal accounts or server-side data about you, there is generally no personal data for us to access or delete. You can delete recordings within the App at any time, and remove iCloud copies and Health data through Apple's settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Decibel Kit is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date.
